Top-notch restaurant/bar. Delicious fried green beans and whitefish. Loved the connection to the pub next door too.

Do not, I repeat - do not, get a Bloody Mary or draft beer here. And please please stay away from the free hot dogs.

Considering the remote location, quite good. Good bar and beer selection. Buffalo wings tasty. Ribs good, though serving a bit small. Whitefish a bit weak, unfortunately. Good desserts. Pleasant staff. Would recommend and go back. Picked us up from the marina at no charge.

Let me be real here: I loathe fish. Seafood of all kinds, blech. I know, I know, I'm the worse off for it, blah blah eat me. I hate fish. NOW, let me tell you that I DO eat whitefish three times a year. And all three times it is the whitefish special at Stoney Acres. Holy cow what a delicious, fresh, and wonderfully juicy and perfect divine nirvana on a plate! They should serve it with a bindi on it, that's how great it is. I salivate thinking about next summer when I get to eat it again! The salsa and chips are wonderful too. And COKE products too! NOTE: Whitefish is not served on all days; recommend doing a drive-by or calling beforehand to see if it's on the menu. Otherwise, have fun with that burger...

Been to Beaver Island twice and this place three times. Everything nice the other reviewers say about the whitefish and the glögg is true. Friendliest service on the island, and that's saying a lot because nearly every place here treats you like family. A little chaotic sometimes, and the wait can be long if you don't call ahead, but worth it.

Reviews were spot on. Whitefish was excellent. Long Island Ice Tea also spectacular. Tried chips and salsa which were very delicious and flavorful. Great recommendation. Friendly staff. Recommend this restaurant.

Ran our boat out to Beaver Island for the Independence Day parade yesterday. We had seen Stoney Acres on Yelp and wanted to check it out for a pre parade lunch. We bummed a ride from the harbor to get out there and enjoyed a really nice lunch. Good food and service is pretty hard to find on this little island but these guys are on it. Food was great, the beer looked really good but we had 30 miles back so drank water. The vibe was way cool too. The service was over the top and muy pleasant..... They happily gave us a ride back to the dock and then we even saw the waitresses in the parade in their Stoney Bus. Beaver Island is great and the Stoney Acres Grill and Pub is a great spot.

We Love to make Beaver Island a regular stop on our fall color tour that we make each year with another couple. Last time we came to the island the rental car was not left at the airport as we were told it would be. The hotel had to be called for a ride and we were without a car for the first nite. As we were waiting for our meal we were laughing about our lack of wheels with the server. A few minutes later the manger was at our table pressing her keys into my hand insisting that we use her car for the weekend. Are you kidding me? You don't even know us!! We didn't take her up on the very generous offer but the gesture is typical of the Beaver Island experience. As for the food at the Stoney Grill, it is some of the best on the island. You can't go wrong with any of it and it is all priced right.

Ate here twice during a summer visit to the island. Loved it. I was with a party of 4 or 5 people and everything we ordered was really good, from the burgers to the salads to the mexican food to the whitefish basket. Their whitefish baskets are especially yummy. Best place to eat on the island by far, and how can you go wrong with Oberon on tap?

This place is as good as it gets on Beaver Island. We had such a good time that we ate lunch, and stayed and drank at the bar until dinner! The owners Marylin and Liam are year round residents and they've done a nice job of making a creative menu that also contains your favorite comfort foods. Homemade mudslides were amazing and the whitefish was seasoned perfectly. My husband had the prime rib sandwich which was made from Italian roast beef that rivaled downtown Chicago flavor. The hot giardiniera is a must. Baby back ribs were very flavorful, but just a bit dry and the ticket times were a bit long.....forgivable since the service, atmosphere was so great.

Really, it is the best place to eat on the island! I wish that I had gone all three nights I was on Beaver Island. The menu looks large and make me wonder if everything could be good. After eating four different things with my husband, I wish I could have tried everything. The onion rings are crisp, big and wonderful~try them with the house made ranch dressing. I had two salads. The village salad had whole garlic cloves in it, yum, yum. The oasis salad had a yogurt dill dressing that was deli-sh! The fish was perfectly fried-crispy and not a hint of grease. Also, we really like the Philly steak sandwich. The beef had a great char on it and the onions and peppers were caramelized. We're all ready talking about how soon we can make it back.

I wish we'd stopped there more often on our last trip. The food is fabulous and comes in really generous portions. The chef here has far more creativity than the one at Nina's. They seem to use a lot of local veggies in their dishes, which I always appreciate but which seems to make even more sense on an island, right? You must try the Swedish glögg, a mulled wine, made by the bar owner himself.

Stoney Acres and Donegal Danny's Pub are two great places combined in to one building with the same menu with amazing food. The pub is my preferred side and with good reason. It's a traditional Irish pub with the wonderful O'Haras family of stout and red ale served in proper pint glasses. The food here is delicious and I have yet to have a bad meal here. On my most recent visit I attempted the goblin burger challenge which is 3 1/3 patties with bacon, cheese, jalapenos and "blessed" with habanero sauce with a bowl of ice cream if the burger is ate in its entirety. The burgers were juicy and well seasoned and the heat while present was not unbearable. On my next visit I tried the Prawns New Orleans served on a bed of saffron rice with a Creole cream sauce. It was simply amazing the prawns were huge, cooked just right and so big they had to be cut in to three pieces to make them bite size. The staff is always friendly and courteous and one of the owners is always on hand to make sure you're enjoying yourself.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
